How do you kill george romero in call of the dead?

yeah the answer is obvious you shoot at him i know pretty much everything but i got to a point where his light is broken and he is emitting some red gas of some sort and he is not chasing me or even moving im just confused do i keep shooting him or what? or is there a specific weapon that i have to kill him with?
